Grain Industry Leaders Gathered in Fort Worth

Grain industry leaders from across the country are gathered in in the historic stockyards of Fort Worth, Texas this week for GEAPS Leadership Conference.

The conference, presented by Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS), is a two-day deep dive into all things leadership—and fun! The conference features a robust education focus, social events and multiple chances to network with grain industry professionals.

Again this year, GEAPS Leadership Conference will host a tabletop tradeshow, the Supplier Showcase, to encourage networking and continuation of sharing industry knowledge through sharing services and products.

Education

The educational theme of GEAPS Leadership Conference is “Leading a Culture of Safety.” Attendees will learn the philosophy of servant leadership, where leadership is not about you—but about putting the people you lead first. Attendees will be able to participate in in-depth breakout sessions on practical methods for safety training, conflict management and purposeful presence and you’ll leave the conference knowing the top attributes of what it means to be a servant leader.

Ted Schick, who served as keynote speaker at the 2023GEAPS Leadership Conference in Portland, Oregon returns in a bigger role, serving as conference facilitator, delivering the keynote address, the closing session and sessions in between.

Supplier Showcase

In addition to learning from fantastic speakers, you’ll be able to find solutions from exhibitors during breakfast and lunch at the Supplier Showcase.

The Supplier Showcase is a great opportunity to meet with industry vendors. While unlike the massive expo at GEAPS Exchange, this will be a great opportunity for vendors to connect with customers and for attendees to ask questions and imagine possibilities in a more intimate tradeshow setting.

GEAPS’ Executive Director John Caupert arrived in Fort Worth on Monday and he’s looking forward to meeting friends—old and new.

“GEAPS is known as a great resource for educational and networking opportunities in our industry. GEAPS Leadership Conference is a showcase event for GEAPS and I encourage you all to join me there. Leadership is a service-driven position and a responsibility to the people you lead in your organization. I’m excited to meet with GEAPS leaders in Fort Worth,” Caupert said. “The team is working hard to put together a great conference with quality education and loads of Texas-based fun along the way.”

Networking Events

Attendees who want to squeeze in a bit more fun and networking while they’re in Texas have two bonus events to attend. Wednesday night there is a social at famed honky tonk Billy Bob’s Texas. As the conference ends, attendees are invited to join GEAPS Lonestar Chapter for a golf tournament. Information on these events and more can be found on our website.

Registration

GEAPS members and members of Texas Grain and Feed Association may attend for $325; nonmembers pay $425.  Pre-registration, while encouraged, is not required. To register or learn more, visit geaps.com/leadershipconference
